Privacy notice.
This notice explains what personal information Wiseplan collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it - in plain English. Right now Wiseplan is pre-launch, so the only information we hold is what you give us when you join the waitlist.
Last updated: 9 June 2026 · Draft v0.1
This is a working draft, not legal advice
Before launch, have this notice reviewed by a solicitor or your data protection adviser, and generate the definitive version with the ICO's free privacy notice generator (there's a version for professional, finance and legal services). You'll also need to complete the items marked [in brackets]:
- [Company registration number] and [registered office address]
- [ICO registration number] and a [data-protection contact email]
- Your [email/CRM provider] and [website host], and where they store data
- Your [retention period] and [cookie/analytics] details
Who we are
Wiseplan is a product operated by Wiseplan Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales [company number ●], with its registered office at [registered office address]. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number [●]. If you have any questions about this notice or your information, please contact us at [[email protected]].
The information we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect only what you choose to give us:
| Information | Why we ask for it |
|---|---|
| Your name | So we can address you properly when we write. |
| Email address | So we can tell you when your invitation is ready. |
| Which best describes you | So we understand who's interested and build the right product. |
| Optional message | Only if you choose to write one. Please don't include sensitive details. |
When you use our website, we may also collect limited technical information - such as your device type, browser and the pages you visit - through cookies and [analytics]. We do not ask for any special category data (such as health information) at this stage, and you shouldn't include any in the optional message.
Why we use your information, and our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law we must have a "lawful basis" for using your personal information. Ours are:
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Add you to the waitlist and email you about early access | Consent - which you can withdraw at any time. |
| Understand who's interested so we build the right thing | Legitimate interests. |
| Run, secure and improve our website | Legitimate interests. |
We will only ever email you about Wiseplan. We won't sell your information, and we won't use it for unrelated marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until Wiseplan launches and you've either taken up your invitation or asked us to remove you - and in any case no longer than [retention period, e.g. 24 months] after your last contact with us. After that, we delete or anonymise them.
How we keep it safe
We take security seriously. Your information is stored on secure, access-controlled systems, sensitive data is encrypted, and we limit access to the people who genuinely need it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be told how your information is used (this notice);
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask us to delete your information;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to another provider; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where that's our basis.
To exercise any of these, email us at [[email protected]]. It's usually free, and we'll respond within one month.
Cookies
Our website uses [essential cookies to work, and - if you agree - analytics cookies to help us understand how it's used]. You can control cookies through your browser and our cookie banner. See our [cookie policy] for the detail.
How to complain
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the ICO, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
